Twenty years’ experience in systems analysis and learning design has provided an excellent foundation for John’s work as Human Resource Consultant. Prior to that he worked in senior banking roles, culminating in the Human Resource Development Manager’s role at ASB Bank.
These days, John concentrates on his career in instructional design and the delivery of well-founded learning programmes. He has completed high-level projects for companies in Australia, Hong Kong and the USA as well as New Zealand, giving him a broad perspective on the issues that crop up in different cultures and diverse organisations. A past president of the NZ Association of Training and Development, his professional competencies include learning needs analysis, cross-functional process analysis and the design of performance measurement systems. It’s a rigorous set of skills but John knows exactly how to impart his knowledge with a light touch. His favourite quote: “By the work, know the workman.”
