Learning Outcomes
How does the programme run?
- 9 learning modules and 3 coaching support modules
- each module runs for one day, with about 2 - 4 weeks between each module
- Group sizes of 8-12 learners
- Deliberate acts of literacy and numeracy skills development embedded throughout the programme to support foundation skills
- Building a LeaderToolbox [or action plan] at the end of each module transferring the new ideas back to work
- Agreeing with managers a suitable WorkSmart Project to work on individually or in small groups during the programme. The WorkSmart Project helps learners put the tools and learning “into practice” by developing a project or business case that focuses on an area of productivity or quality improvement in the way they and their team do their jobs
- Completing the tasks needed to get the National Certificate in Business [First Line Management]
- As part of the final day of the programme, participants get the chance to talk about their WorkSmart Project to their managers and the other participants
Learning Outcomes
On the completion of the Front Line Leadership Programme participants will possess the knowledge, skills and attitude to be better front line leaders. They will be competent to:
- Communicate more effectively

- Set SMART goals
- Manage their time and tasks more effectively
- Lead and motivate their teams
- Assign work to team members
- Build high performing teams
- Give performing-enhancing feedback
- Provide guidance to improve performance
- Use problem-solving tools and techniques
